What Adhesive Should I Use?

To attach your documents and photos to the pages of a paper-page album (dry mount albums), it is advisable to use appropriate adhesive to do the job well.

A double sided tape dispenser (acid-free) is a fantastic choice, as are glue dots for memory books. Do avoid normal double sided tapes as the acid level on those tapes are high and will cause yellowing at the edges of your photos within a year or two. You may consider photo corners too if you decide to have an option to change the photos in the future. However, do bear in mind that you can only change photos of the same size.

Do avoid household glue or liquid glue because the high water content will cause your pages to warp. You should also refrain from using normal cellophane tape or rubber cement because they are not acid-free and will deteriorate over time, lose their stickiness and leave ugly brown marks on your pages.

When purchasing an adhesive, look for markings such as acid-free, photo safe, archival, neutral ph or similar indications that the adhesive has long term archival properties, on the package.

Why do some cats lick photos?

Ever wonder why your little furry creature that purrs lick your photos that are lying on the table or floor? Feline behaviourist believe cats find the “plastic” odour irresistable and the coolness and texture of the photos feel good on their tongues. Photo surfaces may contain propylene glycol which has a tempting sweet taste. Anyhow,  keep your furry angels away from the photos as licking would damage the photos and the chemical on the photos may be harmful to the kitty’s health in long term. Do keep the photos in albums or storage boxes.

Display Your Memories in a Beautifully Crafted Book

In this age of digital photography, we take more photos than we ever did before. Almost everyone owns some kind of gadget that captures photos such as a digital camera or even a mobile phone. Sadly, most of you keep them in computers or memory sticks and rarely get around to develop your photos. This puts you at risk of losing precious photo memories, a shame considering what photos represent to all of us.

With our wide range of photo display options, you’re sure to be inspired to whip out that memory stick, develop your photos, and display them as they deserve, preserving them for you and your family. The memories “captured” in your photo scrapbooks and memory albums deserve to be displayed in an equally treasured setting. Used to house photographs of any size, layout design storyboards, display artwork or chronicle projects, nothing makes quite the same impact it does as when presented in a beautifully crafted book.

Our photo album is a home to remember special people, places, times, projects, thoughts, journeys. It can help frame and tell a story, perhaps a story that may have long forgotten….
